This week, five families who had lived under Russian occupation in Chernihiv are able to return to new homes. During the Russian invasion in 2022, their homes were completely destroyed within a day. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of OpenDoorUkraine.NL and its partners, five modular houses have been built in just four months.

We at LifeLine Ukraine.org are honored to have contributed to this project by supplying urgently needed building materials. However, this is just a drop in the bucket compared to the total of 222,000 private homes destroyed in this war in Ukraine as of January 2024.

Together with our partners, we will continue to focus on the reconstruction of infrastructure, mobile health and dental care, particularly in regions where help is needed most. Ukraine needs your help.

The opening of these new homes was accompanied by a delegation of Dutch politicians, including Ruben Brekelmans, Kati Piri, Jesse Klaver, and Laurens Dassen, who visited Ukraine to witness the project and show their support.

While the rebuilding of these five homes marks a significant step forward, much more needs to be done. We remain committed to our mission of reconstruction and support in Ukraine, and we invite you to join us in these efforts.
