This trip I was asked by a Dutch doctor to bring tactical tourniquets to a front-line first aid team in Ukraine. Tactical tourniquets are small, lightweight tourniquets designed to completely stop arterial blood flow from injured limbs. So next to my socks, t-shirts, and toothbrush, my bag packed tourniquets for the first time in my life. Not the kind of thing we usually do with LifeLine Ukraine, as we are 100% civilian focused, but I could not deny doing a life-saving favour.
