What we do › Veteran Tech

Another initiative started by LifeLine Ukraine aims to help Ukrainian veterans and their families get work in the Western European Tech industry.

In close cooperation with the Kyiv Veteran Center and the Dutch/Portuguese WeCooKIT.eu we aim to find IT jobs for these Veterans in the following positions:

  • Software/website Testers
  • Developers
  • Architects
  • Engineers
  • Data Analysts
  • Helpdesk Agents

Basically, any type of work they can do from home in Ukraine or from the Center. Skilled Veterans with IT experience and good English skills are of course easier for us to facilitate. However, unskilled Veterans with good English skills are also accepted into the program and will be trained according to the needs of the clients.

They will all enter into a normal commercial employment with a Ukrainian company and WeCookIT will be the contractor on the client side. WeCookIT will also donate €2,50 per hour billed to the LifeLine Ukraine foundation.

Impact:

Getting back to work will help the veterans return to civil society and will give them a new dignified livelihood whilst continuing to contribute to the survival and rebuilding of their country.

On the 6th of February 2023, we had the first group of Veterans start a 6-week course to become Junior Functional Software Testers. The next group is already going through the application process with The Kyiv Veteran Center.
