During the early days of LifeLine Ukraine.org Ukraine, the team covered 35,000 kilometers in our trusty yet temperamental 22-year-old Peugeot 407. Despite visiting our partners in war-torn areas and near the frontline, ensuring aid was delivered and projects were executed, the journey wasn’t without its challenges…
The clutch broke, we had a burst tire and regularly got stranded in the cold Ukrainian winter just before curfew time. However, since the arrival of the Hilux last fall, that is history…
A huge thanks to IMC CHARITABLE FOUNDATION for the generous donation of the #Toyota Hilux. For already 1 year, Lifeline can enjoy the Hilux for its trips, but not just as a reliable way to get from A to B—it’s also our temporary office and a mobile radio station!
Although we have 22-ton trucks delivering humanitarian aid to our partners, we also take some with us when we visit them. As you can see in the picture above, the car is loaded with relevant goods. Moreover, for the last trip in November we had to be extra cautious and used a РЕБ (Радіоелектро́нна боротьба́), an electronic warfare device that protects us from drones. Especially in Kherson due to the many FPV drones this is no unnecessariy luxury.
