Because of numerous attacks on the water infrastructure, especially on the Khakovka dam in June 2023, the tap water in Mykolaiv remains undrinkable, negatively impacting the health of about 500 thousand people. While partial repairs have been made, the inhabitants still heavily depend on (expensive) external water supply not only for drinking water, but also to continue food production and operate medical facilities. As a result, there is an urgent need for affordable clean drinking water for the population.
To address this need, LifeLine Ukraine has joined forces with the Rebuild our Ukraine and Go Ukraina initiative – ReH2O, which aims to bring mobile water purification stations to affected areas.
LifeLine Ukraine will install a water treatment station next to the Mykolaiv region children’s hospital. We will now help this hospital not only to be energy independent by providing them with solar panels within our Solarge project, but also ensuring access to free clean drinking water for the next 15 years.
Multiple mobile water purification stations of ReH20 are already saving lives across Ukraine, and thanks to the support of our generous donors, we can help even more people in need.
A special thank you to all our partners, volunteers, and donors for their unwavering support in making this happen. Together, we are making a real impact in the lives of those who need it most.
