“We couldn’t leave the city because we were under occupation. My son is in the Ukrainian army, and the enemy came to search for him. Now our house is completely destroyed, but we are trying to rebuild it,” says Tetiana, a resident of Kherson. Such stories are the daily reality of the patients of the Mobile Dental Clinic #1.
In the rural de-occupied territories, access to dental care is extremely limited. Most means of transportation are destroyed, and many people do not have their own cars. Before the introduction of Dental Clinic #1, only the residents of the city of Kherson had access to dental care.
Since the summer of 2023, the Lifeline Ukraine Mobile Dental Clinic has been ensuring that people in rural areas of the Kherson province receive regular, high-quality dental care. This mobile clinic, staffed by brave dentists, is a vital service for these communities.
Impact and Expansion
- Current Capacity: With one Mobile Dental Clinic, we can treat 12 patients per day.
- Future Expansion: Starting July 2024, a second Mobile Dental Clinic will operate in areas such as Kherson, Kharkiv, and Mykolaiv. This expansion is made possible thanks to our generous donors, IMC Chicago Charitable Foundation, DHIN, and Van Venrooy Utility Vehicles B.V.
The Mobile Dental Clinics are making a significant impact by bringing essential dental care to underserved rural areas in Ukraine. With continued support, we can expand our reach and ensure that more people receive the care they need.
