Critical infrastructure

We restore and support essential systems for water, energy, and sanitation. From generators and solar power to local water supply solutions for entire communities. Keeping communities functioning under extreme conditions.

LifeLine Ukraine develops practical infrastructure solutions that help frontline communities continue functioning during power outages, water shortages and damage to public systems. Our projects focus on reliable, locally adaptable solutions that support healthcare, social care and community resilience under extreme conditions.

Key areas of support

Solar energy systems for hospitals, healthcare centres and community facilities Solar-powered water infrastructure and local clean water access solutions Restoration and construction of wells and local water distribution systems Backup energy and essential infrastructure support for frontline communities Integrated infrastructure projects connected to healthcare, care and mobility services

Examples of our projects

Winterization campaign 2025-2026

Thanks to the support of our donors and partners, the Winterization Campaign 2025-2026 raised €272,000 enabling critical support for frontline communities under extreme winter conditions. Generators, battery systems and mobile sanitation units were installed, helping hospitals, water utilities and communities stay operational even during heavy shelling and temperatures dropping to -20C. From families finally able to take a warm shower, to communities maintaining water supply and heating in the depths of winter, nearly 400,000 people were supported through this campaign.

Solar energy for hospitals in Ukraine

Together with Stichting de Boomgaard and Dutch partners, Lifeline Ukraine helps hospitals in Ukraine become more resilient through decentralized solar energy systems. One of the largest children’s hospitals in Kyiv can now keep critical medical equipment running during blackouts, ensuring continuity of care even during attacks on the energy grid. Similar solar power systems are also being installed in frontline regions such as Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Zaporizhzhia, bringing both energy security and stability to vulnerable healthcare facilities.

Restoration of water infrastructure

In partnership with SKion Water, we restored critical water infrastructure in Snihurivka, Ukraine. After 70% of the system was destroyed, we installed 1,350 meters of piping and a new water tower. Additionally, our mobile water units now serve 18,000 people across 22 villages, ensuring reliable access to clean, safe drinking water for war-affected communities.
